Andrew Yu, M.D.Board Certified, Pulmonary Medicine With his expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Yu specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with asthma, emphysema, advanced lung and sleep disorders. He has conducted research in the fields of lung transplantation, allergy, immunology, cardiology and gastroenterology. He has a special interest in transplantation and has been widely published in pulmonary, critical care and transplantation medicine publications. Dr. Yu received his undergraduate degree at University of California, San Diego, graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering. He completed his medical degree in 1998 at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He subsequently completed residency in Internal Medicine and intensive training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Lung Transplantation at Loyola University Medical Center. He was named Resident of the Year and Fellow of the Year for 2001 and 2004 respectively, by the residents of the department of medicine. Dr. Yu is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the American Thoracic Society. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Edward, and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
